Salon Brixton - Brixton, London

Since moving to London I have learned quickly that the London Sunday Brunch is a vital weekly ritual. I have dedicated myself to the endless search for the best brunch in London, I will sacrifice my Sundays and my figure for the cause (I am pretty selfless like that). With excitement and hungry stomachs we headed South to eclectic Brixton… we rocked down to Electric Avenue (I’m sorry but I can’t help but sing it every single time) turned into Market Row to find ourselves at our carefully considered brunch spot of choice; Salon Brixton.

The perfect Bloody Mary

The perfect Bloody Mary

This little Brixton favorite is known to fill up quickly, not willing to take any risks we were the first to arrive 10:30am on the dot. Nevertheless we were welcomed by such a friendly bunch who lead us upstairs to the Dining Room. The Dining Room feels homely; it is warm and familiar and not too perfectly put together, a sweet cozy spot to while away a Sunday Morning.

Our Bloody Mary’s arrived within minutes and with the added, ‘if they aren’t spicy enough for you just let me know’, it was a nice touch that just shows that the team here care a lot about what they put on the table. We both went for Smashed Avocado on Toast with Super Seeds & Pickled Chilli oh and added Pigs Cheek Lardons and A Duck Egg, mainly because I wanted everything on the menu and couldn’t decide. I have only two words; Mind. Blown.  The portion was substantial but there was no way I was leaving a tiny bit.

Salon Brixton boasts a menu that is focused on being Seasonal and inventive while making the most of local ingredients. Their menu is dotted with distinctive homegrown and foraged ingredients like nettles and wild garlic. It’s creative, thoughtful and most importantly, utterly delicious.
