Bo Drake - Soho, London
Bo Drake has long been on my list of restaurants in London that I simply must try. It promises the combination of the delicacies of East Asian cuisine and slow cooked BBQ; a food marriage made in heaven.
Its unassuming exterior is possibly the reason I hadn't ticked it off sooner, I must have walked by it 100's of times. Very modern and minimal in design, Bo Drake allows the food (and the cocktails!) speak for themselves. Its warm glow on a dreary Saturday drew us in closer... we scanned the menu and those three little words that mean so much jumped out…Korean. Fried. Chicken. Needless to say, we did not look any further.
The highlights were of course the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken Wings) and the Pork Belly Bao; Confit New Hampshire Belly Pickled Cucumber & Soy Glazed Peanuts sandwiched between a fluffy Bao Bun. The Wagyu Beef Sliders were delicious, but they are a bit of a splurge selection. All of this and a magnificent margarita to top it off, I was in food heaven.
You will find Bo Drake at 6 Greek St Soho, London W1D 4DE. They are open for Lunch and Dinner daily. Reservations are recommended.
